We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payments Manager who will support the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of the company’s payments function. Reporting directly to the Head of Payments, this role plays a critical part in ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient payment operations across the business.
This role sits within the Risk, Payments & Fraud (RPF) function and plays a key role in the operational and strategic delivery of the company’s payments capability. Working closely with the Head of Payments, you will act as a senior escalation point and help ensure the payments function remains robust, compliant, and fit for scale across the UK and other regulated markets.
You’ll be part of the team that builds and protects our platform, supports secure payments, and upholds the highest standards across payments, risk and compliance.
Payments strategy and delivery
Support the Head of Payments in executing the overall payments strategy across the UK and other regulated markets
Manage PSP relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and operational communication
Lead payment configurations and integrations via PIQ (Worldline), working closely with Product and Development teams on integrations and enhancements
Responsible for onboarding and integration of new payment methods relevant to the UK and other regulated markets
Payments operations
Support day-to-day payment operations, ensuring timely processing and resolution of payment-related issues
Monitor payment performance metrics, including approval rates, declines, chargebacks, and fraud indicators, escalating concerns where appropriate
Act as an escalation point for Customer Support, Compliance, and Finance on payment-related queries
Support incident management activities, contributing to root cause analysis
Continuous improvement
Assist in identifying, reviewing, and improving existing payments and RPF procedures
Analyse trends and team output to identify process gaps, training needs, and opportunities to enhance fraud detection and risk mitigation strategies
4+ years of experience in a senior payments role within online gambling, fintech, or regulated digital industries
In-depth knowledge of UK gambling regulations, payment compliance, AML, and fraud prevention frameworks
Proven experience managing PSP relationships and negotiating commercial terms
Hands-on experience with payment gateways and orchestration platforms, including PIQ (Devcode by Worldline)
Understanding of payment integrations, APIs, and payment flows, with the ability to work closely with development teams
Strong understanding of payment operations, fraud prevention, and AML processes
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English (spoken and written)
Nice to have:
Experience launching payment solutions across multiple regulated markets
Familiarity with open banking, account-to-account payments, and emerging UK payment methods
Experience managing large-scale migrations between PSPs or payment platforms
Exposure to alternative payment methods, wallets, and local payment schemes outside the UK
